Trailing 1-0 in the top of the second, the Stars put two up runs on the board as Quentin Becquey (St. Julien Le Faucon, France) hit a shot to right field to score Lucas McKinney (Arvada, Colo.) from second. Quinlan Milne Rojek (Minneapolis, Minn.) later singled to right to score Becquey.

In the third, the Stars managed to tack on another run on a passed ball. In the top of the fourth, the Stars pushed their lead to 5-1, capitalizing on Loras College miscues in the field.

Loras got a run back in the fifth, this time taking advantage of a Dominican error.

In the Stars' half of the sixth, Joe Krasny (Berwyn, Ill.) ripped a triple to right center to score Tim Varallo (Chicago, Ill.), pushing the Stars' lead to 6-2.

Ryan Kukla (Chicago, Ill.), who started on the mound for the Stars, worked into the sixth before leaving the game with a 6-4 lead. Ryan Hoff (Marengo, Ill.) came in and stranded a runner at second, sending the game to the seventh with the Stars holding a two-run lead.

The Duhawks pulled within a run in the seventh on a sacrifice fly and then evened the score on a bases loaded walk in the eighth setting the stage for Schuster's late-game heroics.

Joe Lyons (Chicago Ridge, Ill.) led off the top of the ninth with a single down the left field line. Krasny pushed him to second with a sacrifice bunt. After a fly out to right, Schuster lined an 0-1 pitch back up the middle to plate Lyons. A walk and a hit by pitch loaded the bases for the Stars but the Duhawks escaped further damage, leaving the bases loaded.

Ryan Freeman (Barrington, R.I.), who came on for the final out of the eighth, gave up three singles in the ninth to load the bases with one out for the Duhawks but emerged with the win, getting an infield fly before striking Eric DeSousa to seal the victory.

North Central College 8, Dominican 4

The Stars then lost to the Cardinals 8-4 at Goodrich ballpark. The Cardinals rapped out 13 hits while the Stars tallied eight. NCC put five on the board in the first two innings before the Stars managed to get a run in the fourth to make it a 5-1 ballgame.

In the sixth, McKinney roped a ball up the middle to score Krasny.

The Stars managed to get closer to Cardinals in the bottom of the eighth. Krasny scored a run on a groundout by Becquey. Later, Richie Green (Chicago, Ill.) singled to the NCC shortstop to load the bases. However, the Stars were unable to capitalize and left all three runners stranded.

The Cardinals put up three runs in the ninth to make it a five run differential. The Stars were only able to score one run on a Cardinals wild pitch.

Cody Mueller (Addison, Ill.) got the start for the Stars. Mueller pitched 6.1 innings, gave up 10 hits, five runs, five walks, and struck out one. Mueller would be tagged with the loss making him 0-1 on the year.

Krasny would once again lead the Stars offensively on the day. Krasny had two triples, a double, a single, and a sacrifice.
