Box Score 2 The Dominican University softball team pounded out 39 hits and pushed across 24 runs as they swept a pair of games from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts TrailBlazers and Elms College Blazers on Saturday in Fort Myers, Fla.
The wins push the Stars record to 6-4 overall with two games remaining on the Stars' spring trip to Fort Myers to play in the Gene Cusic Classic.

The Stars gave starting pitcher
Sarah Slouber (Willow Springs, Ill.) a one-run lead before the Stars' junior hurler stepped foot in the circle as
Kaitlin Barajas (Dyer, Ind.) lined a two-out, RBI single after freshman
Ashley Rea (Lockport, Ill.) led off the frame with a single.
Slouber put the Stars' bats back to work quickly, setting the TrailBlazers down in order in the bottom the first.
Catherine Conte (Elmwood Park, Ill.) led off the top of the second with a single and then scored on
Armani Procter's (Chicago, Ill.) double. Procter then scored as
Sara Hausl (St. Charles, Ill.) laid down a squeeze bunt. Hausl later came around to score on a single off the bat of
Dominique Schneider (Lockport, Ill.). Schneider then scored on
Alyssa Domico's (Naperville, Ill.) double, giving Dominican a 5-0 lead.
The TrailBlazers got one run back in the bottom of the second when issued a two-out walk ahead of Abigail Lucas's double. Slouber then ended the threat with a flyout to right, stranding Lucas at second.
The score remained 5-1 into the top of the fourth when Dominican rounded out the scoring with an RBI single by
Barbara Berent (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) that plated Domico.
Slouber went the distance in the win for the Stars, surrendering just two hits and two walks while striking out seven. Slouber improves to 2-0 on the season.
Offensively, the Stars rapped out 15 hits led by Conte who went 3-for-4 at the plate with a run scored. Domico added two hits with an RBI double and a run scored.
Dominican 18, Elms (Ma.) 0
The Stars' bats stayed red hot in Dominican's second game of the day, collecting 24 hits in an 18-0 win. The Stars scored early and often, pushing across five runs in the first, one in the second, seven in the fourth and five in the fifth.
Schneider, Domico and Procter drove in three runs apiece while
Allie Evans (Greenwood, Ind.) and Conte each tallied a pair of RBI.
Haley Locher (Lisle, Ill.) picked up the win in the circle, scattering two hits over three innings of work. Schneider was nearly perfect out of the pen, allowing just one walk in two innings of work. In total, Locher and Schneider struck out nine.
