The Dominican University men's tennis team wrapped up the 2016 regular season on Saturday afternoon at the Wheaton Sport Center in Wheaton, Illinois, dropping a pair of Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) dual matches to fall to 4-4 in conference play and slip to fifth place in the NACC standings.

In the Stars first match of the day,
Tarik Abdullah (Hickory Hills, Ill.) topped Wisconsin Lutheran College's Ben Wordell 6-3, 6-2 at number three singles and
Hector Ramirez (Lyons, Ill.) beat Ryan Eastman at number six singles by scores of 6-1, 6-3. The duo also combined to score a 9-7 win over Ben Wordell and Cedric Guichard at number two doubles. Dominican narrowly missed on a fourth point in the 6-3 loss with
Frank Lally (Park Ridge, Ill.) getting edged by Guichard at number four singles 4-6, 6-2, 10-7.

MSOE then came to the courts and handed the Stars an 8-1 loss with Ramirez scoring another victory at number six singles, 6-4, 4-6, 10-5. Another two singles flights went to third set tie-breakers with
John Mysz (La Grange, Ill.) falling at the two singles flight, 2-6, 6-2, 10-2 and
Camden Knights (Addison, Ill.) getting edged at five singles 2-6, 6-1, 10-5.

The Stars will be the fifth seed in the upcoming NACC Tournament, traveling to fourth-seeded Wisconsin Lutheran College on Tuesday for a 6:00 p.m. match at Hart Park in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
