Stars Downed By Spartans

The Dominican University men's tennis team dropped a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) dual on Saturday to the Aurora University Spartans, 7-2.

The one doubles team of, John Mysz and Camden Knights battled to an 8-3 decision, but it wasn't enough to pick up a point for the Stars.

"We played hard during doubles, but we could not sustain enough momentum to push through for a win," commented Troy Tonsil.

Mysz and Knights picked up the Stars only two points of the day in their respective singles flights. John Mysz needed all of three sets to pick up the win, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 at the number one singles flight. Knights needed a tie break in the second set of the fourth singles flight, but he was able to put away his opponent, 7-5, 7-6.

"Camden Knights and John Mysz were outstanding in single match play. They both earned hard fought wins with combinations of timely returns, commanding winners and making their opponents work for each point. We must bounce back quickly as we head into the last week of the regular season," said Tonsil.

The Stars hit the courts again in Elmhurst on Wednesday against Elmhurst College at 4:00 p.m.
