The Dominican University men's soccer team is looking back at some of the most memorable goals in the team's recent history, putting together a bracket of eight of the most memorable goals over the last decade, going back to 2009.

Starting Tuesday, at 1pm, the Stars will release videos of two goals on Dominican University Athletics' social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) and solicit votes en route to crowning a top goal on Monday, June 8.  The quarterfinals will take place the week of May 25, Tuesday through Friday, with the first semifinal set for Monday, June 1, and the second semifinal on Wednesday, June 3.  The final round will begin on Friday, June 5, with voting running through Sunday, June 7, and the winner of the Stars' top goal announced on Monday, June 8.

The final first round matchup, released Friday, features Juan Carlos Saldana and Trent Miller.  Saldana's strike came in the Stars' historic 2009 season which culminated in a national semifinal appearance. In the highlight, Saldana gave little chance for a helpless Lakeland goalkeeper with a missile from the top of the 18-yard box. Miller's goal, came in overtime of the Stars' second round match against DePauw in the 2012 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship national tournament. In the final two minutes of the first overtime, Miller broke a 1-1 tie with a blast from 35-yards out putting it in the upper-90 of the near post just out of the reach from the Tigers' goalkeeper.

Tuesday's first round matchup between Nicolo Vitale and Zack Venzon resulted in a win for Venzon who claimed 55-percent of the total votes. Venzon will move on to face Jonathan Hernandez who's bicycle kick goal beat out teammate Isaac Perez in a quarterfinal matchup on Wednesday. Thursday's quarterfinal went to Alexander Lulek who topped Jonathan Arzeta with a diving header in the 2018 NACC Tournament Championship match.

The semifinals open next week on Monday with the second semifinal round slated for Wednesday.  A top goal will be crowned on June 8.
