RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University women's soccer's
Gabby Green and
Ashley Ishman earned First Team Academic All-District nods from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), as announced on Thursday afternoon.
Green, a Nutrition & Dietetics major holding a 3.95 GPA, was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Defensive Player of the Year, anchoring the DU backline as a center back. Ishman, whom earned numerous Defensive Player of the Week accolades, was named to the NACC's First Team as a goalie and holds a 3.87 GPA as a Nursing major.
Both have been instrumental in Dominican's NACC-leading defense, of which has surrendered a miniscule 0.41 goals against average, allowing just nine goals on the season. The Stars' defense has combined for 14 shutouts in 22 games, 11 of which came in conference play.
The 2021 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and the NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
