Box Score
River Forest, IL- The #10 Dominican University men's volleyball team traveled down Division Street to take on the Cougars, winning in four sets (21-25, 25-18, 25-14, 25-19).

A George Kougan kill gave the Stars a 4-2 lead in the opening set before the Cougars took over. The Cougars were then able to go on a four-point run that gave them the momentum for the rest of the set. The Stars ended the set with 14 kills, five errors, and hitting .300, while the Cougars had just 10 kills, three errors, and hit .292 for the set.

Jack McGuire set up Adrian Cebula for a kill to start a 5-0 Dominican run early in the second set that would end with three Cougar attacking errors to make the score 14-12. The Stars began to find their rhythm with a Cebula kill making it 21-15 before McGuire set up Kougan to finish the set for a 25-18 Dominican win. "I'm really proud of how our guys rebounded after a rough first set and were able to find our groove," stated Head Coach Cameron Andrew.

The Stars came out strong in the third set with a kill from Jacob Bush to give the Stars a 9-5 lead before three attacking errors by Concordia Chicago extended the lead to seven at 12-5. The Cougars would get no closer than six points as Trey Cowan would finish out the set with an ace for a 25-14 Dominican win.

Kills from Cowan and Bush would help the Stars jump out to a 15-12 led halfway through the fourth set. The Cougars trimmed the deficit to four, 23-19, but it was too little too late as the Stars won the fourth set 25-15 to take the match in four sets.

Kougan led the team with 15 kills, followed by Mat Molloy's 11, and Cowan's 10. McGuire added 43 assists to help the Stars' strong offense. On the defensive end, Bregin DeMarco picked up 15 digs with Kougan and Cowan adding in seven of their own.

"We just let CUC dictate the pace of the game too much to start the match but once our serve pressure and blocking got going, we were able to control the game much better. We made some adjustments, and the guys did a great job of implementing them," continued Andrew. "Now we rest up for our quick turnaround tomorrow."

#10 Dominican has a quick turnaround as they will travel to MSOE on Saturday, March 6th for a 1:00 p.m. match versus the Raiders.
