Dilday and Winters-McCarthy Claim All-NACC Honors

Milwaukee, WI – The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) released the 2021 softball all-conference teams on Friday, naming Dominican's Allyson Dilday and Cecilia Winters-McCarthy to the ALL-NACC First Team. Dilday shined for the Stars in the circle while Winters-McCarthy made a statement in the box and at second base.
 
Dilday compiled a 9-10 record over 20 appearances, including 17 starts, with a 4.36 earned run average. The right-hander collected 120 strikeouts while holding opposing hitters to a .329 batting average over 109.1 innings of work. The Yorkville, Illinois native recorded a season-high of 12 strikeouts against Rockford University back on April 30th.
 
Winters-McCarthy, a junior, batted a team-best .431 with 22 hits, including 13 RBIs, in 51 at-bats. The Temecula, California native recorded 24 appearances, including 21 stars, with a .964 fielding percentage with just two errors on the year.
 
Rounding out Dominican's postseason awards are Candace Kipp, Zoe Deeringer, and Theresa Wilsterman who all received All-NACC Honorable Mention honors. Kipp, a junior, came up big for the Stars back on April 16th when she hit her only home run of the season to lift the Stars over Concordia University Chicago.
 
Deeringer, a freshman, ranked second on the team with a .367 batting average behind Winters-McCarthy. The Wonder Lake, Illinois native recorded 22 hits, five doubles, and three home runs in a total of 60 at-bats for Dominican. Wilsterman, a true freshman, batted .342 with 27 hits, including four doubles, three triples, and three home runs, in 79 at-bats.
 
The Stars continue their season campaign as they compete in the second round of the NACC South Division tournament Friday, May 7th at 1:00 p.m.
