RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University men's volleyball's Mat Molloy and Jack McGuire were both recognized as the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference's (NACC) Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively, as announced on Tuesday morning. 
 
Both earned these selections as the Stars defeated No. 12 Juniata, Baldwin Wallace and RV Stevenson to open up their 2022 campaign in Pennsylvania. Molloy, a middle hitter, was a force at the net all weekend, totaling two or more block assists in each of Dominican's contests. He also led the team in digs with 16 over three matches, reaching double-digits in the win over Stevenson with 10, a career-high. Molloy also had 15 kills, three assists, and five service aces.
 
McGuire, a setter, facilitated the DU offense masterfully as the No. 3-ranked Stars picked up two big five-set wins over No. 12 Juniata and Stevenson sandwiched around a sweep of Baldwin Wallace to open the season undefeated. He totaled 99 assists across the three matches, averaging 7.62 per set. Additionally, McGuire posted 20 kills while hitting at a .545 clip and added 11 blocks (two solo). His standout performance occurred in a dramatic comeback win over Stevenson in which he accounted for nine kills, 39 assists, three service aces, seven digs, and three blocks (one solo).
