Box Score 2 RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's baseball program split its Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) doubleheader with Edgewood College at home on Sunday.
DU fell in the opener 8-5 before pulling off a dramatic, come-from-behind win over the Eagles 5-2 in the second game.
Game One
Edgewood took a 5-0 lead after three innings, but DU fought back and evened the score at 5-all after six innings. The Eagles responded with three runs in the seventh to go ahead 8-5, however, and were able to maintain that advantage to the end.
Matt Galdi was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and had two RBI.
Jake Polonus also had multiple hits, finishing 2-for-4 with an RBI and walk.
Grayson Downing also had two hits and a run scored.
Game Two
Chris Kendziora started and pitched 6.0 innings, giving up just four hits and two earned runs while striking out nine. Edgewood had a 2-0 lead late into the game, but DU exploded for a five-run eighth to go ahead 5-2.
Dominic Desch shut the door in the ninth to secure the win for Dominican.
Downing had two hits and two RBI.
Brandon Diedrich went 2-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI.
