Schaumburg, Ill.- Hayden Young, a fifth year student, made is 39th appearance in a Dominican University uniform at home against Marian University in a day that would go down in Dominican history. 

Young, a Foothill Ranch, California native, became the Dominican University baseball all-time strikeout leader. Young came close to getting the record in his previous start against North Park University. Young would get three strikeouts, tying the record of 210 with Colin Janison. 

This leads us to today, April 1st, 2023 where Young started at home against Marian University, one strikeout away from being the sole owner of the record. Young got the record breaking strikeout on a 2-2 count with the first batter of the game.
