River Forest, Ill. – The post-season for Dominican's team sports is right around the corner, as Women's Volleyball and Men's and Women's Soccer continue their fight for positions in their respective NACC Tournaments.

Women's Volleyball was on the road for two crucial matches this past week. On Thursday, the squad traveled to Illinois Tech, where they would fall to the Scarlet Hawks in straight sets. The Stars would keep it close in each set, but Illinois Tech's high-flying offense was too much for DU to overcome. Junior Veronica Henkel led the Stars in kills and digs with 6 and 14 respectively. The road swing would continue Saturday as the Falcons of Concordia Wisconsin would defeat Dominican 3 sets to 0. Senior Tanya De La Riva would pace the Stars with 5 kills and 10 digs. As of October 27th, Women's Volleyball is at 7th in the NACC standings, with the top 8 programs making the tournament. DUWVB will look to bounce back at Edgewood on Halloween and will be back at home against Alverno on Saturday, November 2nd.

Men's Soccer finished with a win and a draw this past week. Seniors Dylan Alic and John Cronnolly each scored penalty kick goals in a shutout win at Rockford on Tuesday with the final being 3-0. On Saturday, the Stars celebrated Senior Day and recognized all seniors involved in the program and were ultimately held to a 1-1 draw by Concordia Wisconsin. Freshman Jonathan Almaguer scored his first collegiate goal on the afternoon. Dominican has clinched a NACC tournament berth, as they are currently slotted in 3rd place in the standings. Men's Soccer's final regular season game will take place on Wednesday, October 30th at home against River Forest rivals Concordia Chicago.

The Men's and Women's Cross Country teams both enjoyed a week off before their NACC Championship meet this upcoming Saturday November 2nd. The meet will take place at the Northwestern Medicine Cross Country course

Women's Soccer began their week with a dominant home win against Rockford on Wednesday. The Stars would win 9-0, as 24 total players would see the pitch in the win. Sophomore Meghan Wilhite and Freshman Presley Coles each had 2 goals in the outing. DUWSOC would also celebrate Senior Day on Saturday, where their contest against Concordia Wisconsin also ended in a draw, this time 0-0. Goalkeeping Graduate Student Sarah Grimmett made 4 saves in the battle against the Falcons. DU has also cliched their spot in the NACC tournament, as they currently sit in 4th. The Stars will be on the road at Concordia Chicago on Wednesday, October 30th to finish the regular season.
