River Forest, Ill. – Men's Volleyball continues to be tested by strong NACC opposition, Baseball and Softball host their home and NACC openers, and Track and Field sets its sights on the outdoor season.

Men's Volleyball began the week with another highly-anticipated match at No. 9 Aurora on Wednesday night. After falling behind two sets to one, the Stars rallied back in the fourth to push the match to a fifth set, where DU pulled away and handed Aurora its first conference loss of the season. Dominican had contributions from all over the court, as four players recorded 13+ kills, and Sophomore Landon Kassulke etched his name in the record book once again with a 56-assist performance. Following Wednesday nights match, the Stars returned to the Igini Sports Forum to host St. Norbert on Saturday. DU was able to put away the Green Knights in four sets and held SNC to just 15 points in each of the sets won. Graduate Student Casey Goss put together another strong match, totaling 14 kills on .478 hitting along with 5 digs. Men's Volleyball will prepare for a jam-packed week, which starts with a 7:00 p.m. contest on the road at Concordia Wisconsin on Thursday. Dominican will then host California, Santa Cruz for a 5:00 p.m. start on Friday before heading to Marian for a 5:00 p.m. match on Saturday, March 28th.

Softball returned from Central Florida and shifted its focus to its NACC-opening doubleheader at home against Concordia Wisconsin on Saturday. The Falcons got the better of the Stars in both games, as Dominican dropped Game 1 by a score of 8-5 and Game 2 by a final of 9-4. Senior Ryley Davis was 6-8 at the plate between the two games and drove in two runs. Senior Paytin Salfi recorded her first homer of the season in Game 2. Looking to get back on track, the Stars traveled to Rockford on Sunday for another doubleheader. DU picked up two big wins over the Regents, winning by final scores of 10-1 and 13-0. Sophomore Hannah Richards and Sophomore Rhiannon Rubio dominated in the circle for Dominican, holding Rockford to just three hits across the two games. Softball will get set to travel to MSOE on Saturday, March 28th for a doubleheader against the Raiders at 12:00 p.m. before heading to crosstown foes Concordia Chicago for a 12:00 p.m. doubleheader against the Cougars.

Baseball concluded the RussMatt Invitational in Central Florida and set its sights on its NACC-opening doubleheader at Wintrust Field against MSOE on Saturday. DU came up short in both games, falling to the Raiders in Game 1 by a final score of 9-4 and in Game 2 by a score of 14-3. The Stars will have the opportunity to get back on track this week, starting with a nonconference game at home against North Park, today, at 5:00 p.m. Dominican will then host Concordia Chicago on Wednesday, March 25th, for a doubleheader that begins at 12:00 p.m. before heading to Concordia Wisconsin on Saturday, March 28th, for a 12:00 p.m. doubleheader against the Falcons.
 
Track and Field will get its outdoor season under way at the First Chance Invite, hosted by North Central, between Friday, March 27th to Saturday, March 28th.
 
Stars of the Week for the week of March 16th to 22nd:

Senior Ryley Davis of Softball took home Women's Star of the Week Honors. Ry. Davis was 10-17 at the plate across the week and accrued 6 RBIS and a double.

Sophomore Kendall Esparza of Men's Volleyball was named Men's Star of the Week. The Lancaster, California native totaled 24 kills on .392 hitting and etched his name in the Men's Volleyball record book with 7 aces in the match against St. Norbert, putting him in a tie for second.
