River Forest, Ill. – Spring Break is officially over, and classes are back in session. That means Men's Volleyball is halfway through their season, while NACC play is on deck for DU Baseball and Softball.

Men's Volleyball had a tough week in their two matches this past week. The Stars started the week off with a match against Illinois Tech inside the Igini Sports Forum, DU fell 3-1 to the Scarlett Hawks, despite Junior Ty Geshke collecting 19 kills in the match. Dominican then went on the road to #1 Carthage College on Saturday afternoon and fell 3-0 to the Firebirds. DUMVB hopes to get back on track with their two matches this upcoming week. The first is at defending NACC champion Aurora University, on Wednesday, March 18th, at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, March 21st, St. Norbert will head to the Igini Sports Forum for a 1:00 p.m. first serve between the Stars and the Green Knights.

For the second straight week, Dominican University Baseball was receiving votes in the D3 Baseball National Rankings. After going 2-1 in their first 3 games in Florida, the Stars had 5 more games.

Dominican Baseball will be back in action this upcoming week with three games. The first at Monmouth College on March 19th at 1:00 p.m. Then the Stars will have their home opener against MSOE for a NACC doubleheader. The first pitch is set for 12:00 p.m.

Softball got their first win on the first day of Florida last week and was ready to carry that momentum into this week, and the Stars did just that down in Florida.

March 12th Washington College (Md.) (Win, 9-0 | 5 Innings).
March 14th Wesleyan University (Win, 4-0).
March 14th Babson College (Win, 9-1 | 5 Innings).
DU Softball will take their 4-game win streak into conference play against Concordia Wisconsin on March 21st at Triton College. The first pitch between the Stars and Falcons is set for 1:00 p.m. in the first game.
 
 
 
Stars of the Week for the week of March 9th to March 15th:

Sophomore Hannah Richard of the Dominican University Softball Team took home Women's Stat of the Week Honors. Richards was incredible all week for DU, throwing in 19 innings while only giving up 2 earned runs in those 19 innings. Richards went 3-1 in the circle and collected 9 strikeouts.

Senior Matthew Earley of the Dominican University Baseball Team took home Men's Star of the Week Honors. Earley went 8-20 with 5 runs scored, a walk, 3 doubles, 4 RBIs, and a homerun in the 5 games.
