Box Score Auburndale, Fla.- The Dominican University baseball team played Albion College in day 2 of the spring break trip. Auburndale, Fla. – The Dominican University baseball team played the Cardinals of Saint Mary's University of Minnesota Monday morning in Florida.

Game 1 Results:
Dominican: 9
Saint Mary's Minn: 5

How it Happened:
-The Cardinals get a run across the board in the bottom of the first. Scoring a run on 3 hits.
-Dominican was held scoreless through the first 3 innings with only 1 hit.
-The Stars put up a big number in their half of the fourth. Starting with Senior Peyton Arsenault hitting an RBI triple to right field. Senior Anthony Nalbono continued hitting an RBI single to right field. DU kept the train rolling with Sophomore Zach Helein singling to right field bringing in two runners. Getting the Stars a 4-1 lead to the bottom half of the fourth.
-DU threaten in the top of the 5^th with nobody out and bases loaded, but failed to get a run across the board.
-Dominican was able to scratch 2 runs in the sixth. The first being a sacrifice fly by Sophomore Niko Krecu. The second run came on an RBI single to left field by Junior CJ Kalekas.
-Starter Kalekas buckled down after the run given up in the first, and held the Cardinals to 5 scoreless innings after the first. Kalekas had 4 strikeouts in his 6 innings of work.
-SMU grabbed a run in the bottom of the 7^th inning on two hits, but leaving 3 runners on base.
-The Stars added 3 insurance runs in the top of the 9^th inning with a 3 RBI double by Helein to right field.
-SMU made an effort to come back in the bottom of the 9th scoring 3 runs on 4 hits, but it was not enough. 

Shining Stars:
-Junior CJ Kalekas pitched 6 innings only giving up a run in the first. Threw 4 strikeouts. Kalekas also led the Stars offensively going 3 for 5 with an RBI and run scored.
-Sophomore Zach Helein went 2 for 6 with 5 RBI's
-Senior Grayson Downing went 2 for 4 with 2 walks and 3 runs scored.
