Box Score Chicago, Ill. – the Dominican University baseball team traveled to North Park University for their final non-conference game against the Vikings.
The Stars got the better of North Park earlier in the year winning 7-3 on March 24
th.
Game 1 Results:
Dominican: 4
North Park: 14
How it Happened:
-Dominican went three up, three down in the first. The Vikings had a big inning though scoring 4 runs on a hit.
-North Park scored a run on a hit in the second inning.
-The Stars got on the board in the third with Senior
Matt Galdi singling.
-The Vikings would make it three straight innings of getting a run, by scoring a run on no hits.
-The score going into the fourth inning was 6-1 in favor of NPU.
-Senior
Anthony Nalbono cut the Stars deficit in half when he hit a two-run homerun to center field. This being Nalbono's third homerun of the year.
-North Park got their lead back to five in the bottom of the sixth. Scoring 2 runs on 3 hits in the inning.
-Galdi followed it up by hitting a solo homerun to centerfield. This being Galdi's third homerun of the year.
-The Vikings answered by scoring 2 runs on 4 hits in the bottom of the 7
th.
-NPU was not done though and picked up 4 runs on 3 hits in the 8
th inning. This got North Park to a 10 run lead, and beating the Stars in 8 innings.

-Senior
Matt Galdi went 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored.
-Junior
CJ Kalekas went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored.
-Senior
Anthony Nalbono went 1 for 4 with 2 RBIs
-Sophomore
Niko Krecu 2 for 3 with a walk.

The Dominican University Baseball team will be back in action to continue their conference play Wednesday afternoon. The Stars will travel to Aurora University to play a doubleheader against the Spartans. First pitch will be at 1:00 p.m.
