River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University softball team has won the NACC regular season championship, and earned the #1 seed in the NACC tournament.
The Stars finished 35-5 overall in the regular season, 20-4 in NACC conference play. DU had a .339 batting average as a team throughout the regular season, but the real success came through the pitching staff where as a team the Stars had a 1.62 ERA, and only gave up 61 earned runs in 40 games.
Dominican really carried the momentum from Florida, and Kentucky into NACC play and it paid off. The Stars went 15-1 before their first conference game of the year, and they did not slow down. Staring off NACC play 9-0 before their first NACC loss.

Cristina Lukas stated "This is the hardest working team I have ever coached. They put the work in and have earned this championship. I couldn't be more prouder."
The Dominican University softball team will play in the NACC Tournament starting Friday afternoon. Their first conference game will be at 4:00 p.m.
