River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Women's volleyball team hosted the Concordia University-Chicago Cougars for Senior Night.
Result:
Dominican: 0
Concordia Chicago: 3
How it Happened:
-DU was behind 7-3 in the first set but got into a rally starting from a kill by Senior
Veronica Henkel.
-The Stars were able to keep it close in the first set with help from Junior
Jillian Ross collecting a kill and Senior
Ellery Shea.
-Dominican was able to take back their lead in the second set by Shea collecting two kills and senior
Lola Butler getting herself two service aces.
-After falling behind 23-15, DU went on a 6-0 run with Freshman
Karolina Stonkus collecting three service aces and Henkel firing off another kill, unfortunately it wasn't enough to get a set win from the Cougars.
-The Stars were nipping at the Cougars heels all of set 3 and a kill from Junior
Kathryn Ksiezak tied the set up at 23.
-DU could not keep the Cougars from firing, which led the Stars to drop the set 25-23.
Shining Stars:
- Senior
Veronica Henkel led the team with 9 kills and 3 digs.
- Senior
Ellery Shea got herself 5 kills, a block and 3 digs.
- Senior
Lola Butler added to her stat line with 2 kills and 2 service aces.
- Sophomore
Fabiana Pizzo was solid on defense, collecting 13 digs.
- Sophomore
Kayla Amormino and Freshman
Karolina Stonkus helped their team both collecting 9 assists, Stonkus also led the team in service aces with 3.

What's Next:
Dominican University Women's Volleyball is now 2-20 (1-11 NACC) on the season. The Stars will be back in action in the Igini Sports Forum hosting the St. Norbert Green Knights for their last game of the 2025 season.
