Dominican Competed in the Tadd Metzger Invitational

Kenosha, Wis. – The Dominican University Track & Field team participated in the Tadd Metzger Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Results:
Women's T&F: 7th
Men's T&F: 11th

Shining Stars:
-Junior Mia Taullahu participated in her second Track and Field race and was stellar. Taullahu beat her time in the 55-meter dash event from her last time racing. The Junior ran a 8.05 in this race which is 20 second better then her last run.
-Junior Sarah Matuszek participated in her first Track and Field event and shown out. Matuszek ran a 8.19 in the 55-meter dash event.
-Freshman Fatima Duran ran in the 600-meter dash and finished with a time of 2:10.03, which was good for 9th.
-Freshman Alexandra Jimenez ran in the 400-meter dash and finished with a time of 1:23.03, which was almost a second better then her previous competition.
-Sophomore Lily Jimenez competed in the 600-meter dash and finished the race with a time of 2:16.65.
-Freshman Mary Bitter raced in the 800-meter dash and finished with a time of 3:12.59.
-Freshman Camila Salcedo participated in the 600-meter dash and finished the race with a time of 2:24.38.  
-Junior Adrian Ocana ran in the 400-meter dash and finished with a time of 57.74.
-Senior Oscar Meza Quintero participated in the 400-meter dash and finished with a team 1:00.24.
-Graduate Student Lauren Mark ran in the 200-meter dash and finished with a time of 29.69. This time was almost a second better then her previous 200 time.
-Sophomore Jose Murillo competed in the 55-meter dash and finished with a time of 7.11 seconds.
-Dominican raced in the women 4x400 meter relay. The first team consisted of Junior Emma Brosnihan, Graduate Student Lauren Mark, Junior Sarah Matuszek and Junior Mia Taullahu. These four finished with a time of 4:41.14 and was about 8 seconds better than their previous 4X400 race.
-Senior Avery Brown has continued to dominate for the Stars on the track side of things. Brown participated in the shot put event and finished with a distance of 8.03 meters.
 

What's Next:
Dominican Track and Field will be right back in action next weekend with their fifth straight meet in as many weekends. The Stars will be participating in the Chicagoland Indoor Championship on February 15th.
