Dominican Softball Takes Their 6 Game Win Streak Into Series Against MSOE

Rosemont, Ill- The Dominican University Softball team is right back at The Stadium at the Parkway Bank Sports Complex, after two comeback victories Tuesday night.


Series History vs. MSOE:

 All-Time Record / Streak/: 22-14 / DU L1
-Dominican and Milwaukee School of Engineering first played on 4/15/2008 in Milwaukee, Wis. Where DU swept MSOE (13-2 and 9-1).
-Last season these two schools played in Milwaukee where they split the two-game series.


DU in Review:

  -Dominican is coming off three straight sweeps in the NACC. The Stars record is 15-5 overall with a 7-1 record in the NACC and they are 2-0 at The Stadium at the Parkway Bank Sports Complex, and 1-1 at Triton College going for 3-1 on their home turd.  
-The Stars are currently hitting .335 as a team with 1-5 runs scored. They are holding their opponents to a .258 batting average and have given up 59 total runs.
-DU holds a 2.76 team ERA while opposing pitchers have a 4.40 ERA against the Stars.
-The Stars have a .954 fielding percentage on 562 total chances and have made 26 errors.
 -Dominican heads into 2025 looking to make the conference tournament for the 4th straight year.  

Familiar Faces:

-Dominican returns senior Emma Woodhouse who can play on both sides of the ball. Woodhouse carried a 14-2 win-loss record in the circle with 58 strikeouts in 110.2 innings pitched. Not only did Woodhouse record that stellar record, she also carried a 1.96 ERA. The senior was also the team's second-best hitter with a .398 batting average. Woodhouse had 53 hits and led the team with 29 RBIs. Emma played and started in 45 games last season. 
-Senior Liliana Santoyo will look to be back in the shortstop position this season. Santoyo carried an amazing .965 fielding percentage in her 202 chances at shortstop. Not only was the senior a huge part of the defensive success, and she was also a .339 hitter who had the walk-off bunt in the NACC championship game. Liliana had 41 hits in her 121 at-bats. Santoyo played and started in 47 games last season. 
-Junior Ryley Davis is a three-year third baseman for the Stars and has been amazing in her short two years. Davis was a .275 hitter last season and looks to make a big jump on the offensive side things and carry her 13 doubles from the 2024 season to the 2025 season. At the hot corner, Davis carried herself with a .905 fielding percentage in her 137 chances. 
-Sophomore Kailee Diaz Randall returns to the Dominican lineup with high hopes this season. Diaz Randall was a fantastic freshman catcher last season and has only allowed herself to improve even more. The Sophomore hit .282 last season with 8 doubles and 3 triples. On the defensive side, Diaz Randall threw out five runners stealing and had a .957 fielding percentage behind home plate. 
-Senior Hanna Voegtle will return to the Dominican lineup playing left field and pitching. Voegtle threw in 14.1 innings last season and carried a 1.47 ERA, when the senior was not in the circle, she was out in left field with a .972 fielding percentage. Not only did Hanna help on the defensive side of things she was able to hit .362 last season in her 58 at-bats. 
 
Last Time Out:

-The Stars are coming off two comeback wins against Benedictine University with the Stars winning 11-3 and 6-4.
-In game one DU won 11-3.
-Senior Emma Woodhouse improved her record to 8-3 and earned her 6th straight win. Woodhouse pitched 7 innings only giving up 3 earned runs and adding 2 more strikeouts to her name. Not only was Woodhouse dominant in the circle, she went 1-3 with an RBI, and 3 runs scored.
-Freshman Raegyn Davis exploded at the plate going 2-4 with 4 RBI and a triple.
-Freshman Isabella Olmos has continued to be a huge vocal point of the DU offense going 2-3 with a walk, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base.
-Sophomore Kailee Diaz Randall found her stride again going 1-2 with an RBI, a run scored, and a triple.
-In game two Dominican won 6-4.
-Sophomore Liberty Rivard improved her record to 2-0 on the season as she pitched 3 scoreless innings picking up a strikeout, and only allowed 4 hits.
-Senior Emma Woodhouse collected her 4th save of the season in her 1 inning of work and picked up a strikeout.
-Freshman Rhiannon Rubio started the game for the Stars going 3 innings and picked up 2 strikeouts.
-Freshman Kayla Amormino led the stars at the plate going 2-4 with an RBI.
-Senior Hanna Voegtle went 1-3 with 2 RBIs and a triple.
-Senior Priscylla Rutter made her first start of the year and was incredible going 1-2 with a walk, a run scored, and a triple.
-Senior Gillian Czubernat came in the game off the bench and went 1-1 with an RBI and a triple.
-Junior Ryley Davis brought in the go-ahead and went 1-3 with an RBI in the game.
-Senior Liliana Santoyo has continued her fantastic year at the plate going 1-3 with a walk and a run scored.
-Junior Paytin Salfi went 1-3 with a run scored and a double.  

Star Gazing:

-Senior Emma Woodhouse has continued to be the Stars workhorse for DU, with an 8-3 record on the season with 45 strikeouts and a 1.98 ERA in 70.2 innings pitched. Woodhouse is back in the lineup offensively and currently has a .333 batting average. The senior has 10 hits and 4 RBIs in her 30 at-bats.
-Freshman Rhiannon Rubio is 4-2 in her freshman campaign with 21 strikeouts and a 4.36 ERA in 35.1 innings pitched.
-Sophomore Liberty Rivard has a stellar .40 ERA in her 17.1 innings pitched.
-Senior Liliana Santoyo is starting her senior year with a .397 batting average on 63 at-bats. Santoyo has 25 hits, with a triple, and 7 RBIs.
-Freshman Isabella Olmos has been shining with a .368 batting average as the DU cleanup hitter. Olmos currently has 25 hits, 4 doubles, 2 homeruns, 19 runs scored, and 12 stolen bases.
-Junior Ryley Davis is balling at the plate with a .340 batting average. Ry. Davis has 17 hits and 12 RBIs.
-Freshman Raegyn Davis has been stellar to start her young college career with a .348 batting average. Rae Davis has 24 hits, 6 doubles, a homerun, and 13 RBIs.
-Sophomore Kailee Diaz Randall is starting her second year on the right foot holding a .283 batting average. Diaz Randall currently has 13 hits, 4 doubles, a homerun, and 6 RBIs.
-Senior Hanna Voegtle is starting to swing a hot bat, holding a .366 batting average with 15 hits and 9 RBIs.
-Junior Paytin Salfi has found her swing for the Stars now holding a .321 batting average with 17 hits, 8 RBIs, and 4 doubles.
 
 
Scouting Report:

-Milwaukee School of Engineering is 8-12 overall, 4-0 in the NACC and 3-5 away from their home turf.
-MSOE is riding a 4-game win streak and 3 straight 1 run wins. Two of them against Wisconsin Lutheran on April 6th.
-The Raiders are hitting .273 as a team and have scored 67 total runs on 142 hits this season.
-Milwaukee School of Engineering holds a 5.56 team ERA with their ace holding a 4.22 ERA in 69.2 innings pitched.
-MSOE is fielding it at a .953 rate while making 25 errors on 530 total chances this season.
