Softball Continues Road Swing at WLC

Milwaukee, Wis. – Dominican University Softball heads back to Wisconsin for a third doubleheader in four days, this time taking on Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday.

Series History vs. Wisconsin Lutheran:
Dominican and Wisconsin Lutheran first played on 4/9/2008 in Forest Park, Ill. (L, 7-1; L, 5-0) 
All-Time Record / Streak: 26-7 / Dominican W6
Last Meeting (4/20/2024): DU swept WLC in Rosemont, Ill. (7-0, 9-5).
DU is 11-4 all-time at Wisconsin Lutheran, with their last loss in Milwaukee in 2018.

DU in Review:
  -Dominican is coming off three straight sweeps in the NACC. The Stars record is 19-7 overall with a 10-2 record in the NACC and they are 5-1 at The Stadium at the Parkway Bank Sports Complex, and 1-1 at Triton College going for 6-2 on their home turf.  
-The Stars are currently hitting .337 as a team with 144 runs scored. They are holding their opponents to a .255 batting average and have given up 79 total runs.
-DU holds a 2.79 team ERA while opposing pitchers have a 4.71 ERA against the Stars.
-The Stars have a .951 fielding percentage committed 35 errors.
 -Dominican heads into 2025 looking to make the conference tournament for the 4th straight year.  

Last Time Out:
-The Stars split at St. Norbert on Thursday.
-Dominican came up short in Game 1, 4-3.
-Senior Liliana Santoyo finished 2-2 with an RBI, walk, and run scored.
-Freshman Isabella Olmos went 2-3 with 2 RBIs.
-Senior Hanna Voegtle was 1-3 with a run scored.
-DU turned around their play in Game 2, winning 17-7.
-Freshman Isabella Olmos was 2-4 with 3 RBIs.
-Junior Paytin Salfi finished 1-2 with 3 RBIs.
-Senior Liliana Santoyo completed a spectacular day with a 2-5 performance at the plate, including 2 doubles, 2 RBIs, and 3 runs scored.
-Freshman Madisen Butler was 2-2 with 2 RBIs.
-Sophomore Kailee Diaz Randall had 2 hits, including a double, along side 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

Star Gazing:
-Senior Emma Woodhouse has continued to be the Stars workhorse for DU, with a 10-4 record on the season with 68 strikeouts and a 1.87 ERA in 89.2 innings pitched. Woodhouse is back in the lineup offensively and currently has a .325 batting average. The senior has 13 hits and 5 RBIs in her 40 at-bats.
-Freshman Rhiannon Rubio is 5-2 in her freshman campaign with 30 strikeouts and a 4.59 ERA in 42.2 innings pitched.
-Sophomore Liberty Rivard has a stellar 1.25 ERA in her 28.0 innings pitched.
-Senior Liliana Santoyo is starting her senior year with a .433 batting average on 79 at-bats. Santoyo has 27 hits, with a triple, and 13 RBIs.
-Freshman Isabella Olmos has been shining with a .365 batting average as the DU cleanup hitter. Olmos currently has 31 hits, 5 doubles, 3 homeruns, 24 runs scored, and 14 stolen bases.
-Junior Ryley Davis continues to be effective at the plate with a .328 batting average. Ry. Davis has 22 hits and 14 RBIs.
-Freshman Raegyn Davis has been stellar to start her collegiate career with a .352 batting average. Rae Davis has 31 hits, 7 doubles, 2 triples, a homerun, and 16 RBIs.
-Sophomore Kailee Diaz Randall is starting her second year on the right foot holding a .309 batting average. Diaz Randall currently has 17 hits, 5 doubles, a homerun, and 8 RBIs.
-Senior Hanna Voegtle is starting to swing a hot bat, holding a .308 batting average with 16 hits, a home run, and 10 RBIs.
-Junior Paytin Salfi has found her swing for the Stars now holding a .292 batting average with 19 hits, 12 RBIs, and 4 doubles.

Familiar Faces:
-Dominican returns senior Emma Woodhouse who can play on both sides of the ball. Woodhouse carried a 14-2 win-loss record in the circle with 58 strikeouts in 110.2 innings pitched. Not only did Woodhouse record that stellar record, she also carried a 1.96 ERA. The senior was also the team's second-best hitter with a .398 batting average. Woodhouse had 53 hits and led the team with 29 RBIs. Emma played and started in 45 games last season. 
-Senior Liliana Santoyo will look to be back in the shortstop position this season. Santoyo carried an amazing .965 fielding percentage in her 202 chances at shortstop. Not only was the senior a huge part of the defensive success, and she was also a .339 hitter who had the walk-off bunt in the NACC championship game. Liliana had 41 hits in her 121 at-bats. Santoyo played and started in 47 games last season. 
-Junior Ryley Davis is a three-year third baseman for the Stars and has been amazing in her short two years. Davis was a .275 hitter last season and looks to make a big jump on the offensive side things and carry her 13 doubles from the 2024 season to the 2025 season. At the hot corner, Davis carried herself with a .905 fielding percentage in her 137 chances. 
-Sophomore Kailee Diaz Randall returns to the Dominican lineup with high hopes this season. Diaz Randall was a fantastic freshman catcher last season and has only allowed herself to improve even more. The Sophomore hit .282 last season with 8 doubles and 3 triples. On the defensive side, Diaz Randall threw out five runners stealing and had a .957 fielding percentage behind home plate. 
-Senior Hanna Voegtle will return to the Dominican lineup playing left field and pitching. Voegtle threw in 14.1 innings last season and carried a 1.47 ERA, when the senior was not in the circle, she was out in left field with a .972 fielding percentage. Not only did Hanna help on the defensive side of things she was able to hit .362 last season in her 58 at-bats. 
 
Scouting Report:
-Wisconsin Lutheran is 9-16 overall and is 4-8 in NACC play.
-The Warriors are coming off a spilt series at Benedictine (L, 11-0; W, 10-3).
-WLC is hitting .302 as a team and has scored 128 total runs on 199 hits.
-The Warriors hold a team ERA of 5.24.
-Wisconsin Lutheran is fielding at a .951 clip and have made 34 errors on the season.
