Cristina Lukas of the Dominican University softball team just reached the 500-win mark on Saturday, April 19
th, 2025 with a win over Wisconsin Lutheran on the road.
Lukas currently has 502 wins as head coach of the Dominican University softball team. Lukas and the Stars are coming off the best season in DU softball history going 39-8 overall and 20-4 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC), Dominican also went 12-0 at their home field. Last season, Lukas and her staff won NACC coaching staff of the year, while the team won the NACC regular season championship and beat Lakeland 3-2 in 10 innings to win the NACC conference tournament championship. Giving the Stars their first NCAA tournament appearance in program history. Not only did DU make the NCAA tournament they won a game under head coach

Currently Lukas and the Stars are playing good ball, with a 22-8 overall record and a 13-3 record in the NACC.
During her tenure, the Stars have rewritten the program's record book, posting records for wins in a season (39, 2024), batting average (.361, 2010), slugging percentage (.552, 2010), on-base percentage (.415, 2009), runs scored (313, 2009), runs batted in (270, 2009), total bases (616, 2010), doubles (84, 2010) and home runs (43, 2009). On the defensive side, her squads have set program marks for fielding percentage (.960, 2024), the team earned run average (1.74, 2024) and batters struck out (315, 2013).
Lukas has guided the Stars to the NACC tournament in 13 of the 15 seasons including a NACC Championship in 2024, while appearing in the tournament championship in 2009 and 2012.
Lukas and the Stars will continue their journey to their 5
th straight NACC tournament appearance and to defend their NACC title on 4/26/25 as Dominican softball will host Edgewood College at 12:00 p.m. at Triton College.
