River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University softball team had two members selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region Teams.
Senior
Emma Woodhouse was named to the NFCA All-Region First-Team list. Woodhouse was the workhouse for the Stars in the circle, appearing in 29 games, while starting in 24 games this season. The senior from Sacramento threw in 148 innings this year holding a 1.99 ERA and an 18-6 record in the circle. Emma threw 15 complete games with 5 of them being shutouts, and held 4 saves throughout the season. Woodhouse held opposing hitters to a .235 batting average while collecting 107 strikeouts throughout the season. The senior also put up some hitting stats despite the shoulder injury, but Emma battled all season, putting up a .283 batting average in her 46 at-bats, she collected 13 hits and scored 10 runs on the season with 5 RBIs. Emma also brought the defensive intensity, fielding her position with great pride in holding a .978 fielding percentage on her 46 total chances in the circle. Woodhouse also earned 9 total putouts and 36 assists while only making one error all season long.

Cristina Lukas commented on Woodhouse's First-Team All-Region Selection by saying, "Emma had another stellar season on the mound for us. Her record-breaking season will leave us with lasting memories. She is very deserving of this recognition."
Freshman
Isabella Olmos was named to the NFCA All-Region Third Team list. Olmos was a star-studded freshman who came into the program this season with a lot of talent and excitement. Isabella delivered in her freshman campaign by playing and starting in all 42 games this season at second base. Isabella held a .355 batting average in her 141 total at-bats, which was the team's highest. Olmos also led the team in homeruns (4), total bases (75), and stolen bases (29), which set a new Dominican Softball single-season stolen base record. The freshman from Mokena collected 50 hits, 39 runs, 7 doubles, 3 triples, and 24 RBIs, along with the numbers she led the team in. Not only did Olmos crush softballs, but she also brought great defense with her this season, holding a .965 fielding percentage on 142 total chances, with 88 putouts and 49 assists.
Lukas commented on Olmos's Third-Team All-Region Selection by saying, "Bella had an outstanding freshman season. She shattered our stolen base record and was a consistent threat at the plate and on the bases. We are excited to see what her future at DU brings."
