River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University Department of Athletics and Men's Volleyball Head Coach Doug Burchett has announced the hiring of Matt Stillman as the university's first Men's Volleyball Graduate Assistant Coach.

Stillman recently served one season at Averett University as the Graduate Assistant Coach for Men's and Women's Volleyball.

Stillman, a New Lenox, Illinois native, graduated from Trine University and was a four-year starting Middle Blocker in the Men's Volleyball program. He led the team to three winning seasons and four MCVL playoff berths. In his senior season, Trine won the MCVL tournament and took Loras College to five sets in the first round of the NCAA tournament. During his four-year career, Stillman led all middles in career kills, attack attempts, and aces. He owns the record among all players for career solo blocks, block assists, and total blocks. In the NCAA tournament game against Loras, he had a .750 hitting percentage, the single-game record for hitting percentage (on a minimum of 20 attempts).

Before his collegiate career, Stillman attended Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox, Illinois, and played club volleyball for Ultimate Volleyball Club.

Head Coach Doug Burchett commented on Stillman's hiring, stating, "I am thrilled to add Matt to our staff as the first-ever Graduate Assistant for the Men's Volleyball program. Matt brings some great playing experience with him during his four years at Trine as a middle, and also some excellent coaching experience recently at Averett. He was able to be involved in all facets of coaching during his year there, and I knew he would be able to come in and hit the ground running with us."
