Louisville, KY. - The Dominican University men's volleyball team earned their 9th American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award with this being their 4
th straight.
A record number of volleyball programs have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT. More than 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball programs maintained a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale), to earn the award for their classroom excellence during the recently completed academic year.

Doug Burchett commented on this award by saying, "Academic excellence is a core part of our program's culture, and I'm very proud of the hard work these men put in the classroom this past academic year. We are very honored to win another AVCA Team Academic Award and will continue to always strive to represent Dominican University on the national stage on and off the court."
The Stars had 8 members with a GPA of 3.5 or higher including a 4.0 GPA by Senior
Ryan Barnett.
