Chicago, Ill. – Dominican University Track & Field took part in the Aurora Grand Prix on Saturday, hosted by Aurora University.

Shining Stars:
-Freshman
Sarai Palma finished in 51
st place in the Women's 60-meter with a time of 10.96.
-Junior
Fatima Duran ran a time of 3:00.08 in the Women's 800-meter and took 39
th. Sophomore Lizbeth Vallejo followed close behind in 43
rd with a time of 3:06.35.
-Sheila Leon took 41
st in the Women's 400-meter with a time of 1:12.2, setting a new DU record in the process.
- The Women's 4x200-meter relay team comprised of Sophomore
Kayla Amormino, Freshman Adison Hasse, Freshman Charlie Harris, and Junior Kailee Diaz Randall recorded a time of 2:09.00, marking the best performance in the 4x200 in DU history.
-In the Men's 60-meter, Junior
Jose Murillo posted a time of 7.68. Murillo also topped the Stars' times in the Men's 200-meter, running a 25.39.
-Freshman
Konner Buford recorded Dominican's second fastest time in the Men's 60-meter, with a race of 8.26.
-Freshman
Samuel Malke took home 14
th in the Men's 800-meter with a time of 2:00.86. This race proved to be the fastest in DUMT&F history in the event.
-Freshman
Alberto Diaz posted a time of 2:11.51 in the Men's 800-meter, followed by a race of 2:28.66 by Junior
Diego Valdivia.
What's Next:
Dominican Track and Field will head back to Chicago on Saturday, January 31
st, for the Chicago Collegiate Invitational, hosted by the University of Chicago.
