Men's Volleyball Travels to #18 MSOE

Milwaukee, Wis. – Dominican University Men's Volleyball gets set to take on #18 Milwaukee School of Engineering on Friday night.

Series History vs. MSOE:
All-Time Record / Streak: 16-7 / L1
-Dominican and MSOE first played on 1/26/2014 in Milwaukee. (L, 3-2).
-Dominican is 5-5 on the road against the Raiders.
-In their last meeting, DU fell to MSOE in straight sets on the road on 3/29/2025.
 
DU in Review:
-DU is 10-2 (2-0 NACC) (8-1 Home) (2-1 Road) on the 2026 season.
-The Stars finished the 2025 season with a 14-11 record and went 9-3 in conference.
-Dominican spent the preseason abroad in Italy, Croatia, and Slovenia to tune up for the 2026 campaign.
-The 2026 season marks the 3rd season with Head Coach Doug Burchett at the helm. Burchett has amassed a 33-19 record since becoming head coach at Dominican.
 
Last Time Out:
 -The Stars muscled out Wisconsin-Stevens Point in five sets in the DU's second match on Saturday (25-17, 25-18, 22-25, 22-25, 15-8).
 -Junior Ty Geschke had another monster match, totaling 23 kills on .400 hitting. The junior nothed his 500th career kill and entered a tie for 6th for most kills in a single match in DU history.
-Sophomore Landon Kassulke notched 58 assists, joint 3rd most in a single match in Dominican's history.
-Sophomore Kendall Esparza posted 17 kills on .640 hitting, a new career high when taking more than 10 attempts.


Geschke NACC Offensive Player of the Week:
 -Junior Ty Geschke took home NACC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the week of 2/16 – 2/22.
 -Geschke totaled 30 kills, a .418 hitting %, and 3 aces across DU's two matches last week.

Shining Stars:
-Junior Ty Geschke has led the attack for the Stars, totaling 145 kills for 3.37 kills per set. Geschke has added 55 digs and 15 blocks during the 2026 season. The junior is 3rd in the conference in kills.
-Sophomore Kendall Esparza is 2nd on Dominican in kills with 119, which averages to 2.77 kills per set. The sophomore leads the Stars in aces with 24. Esparza is 2nd in the conference in aces.
-Junior Thomas Hirsch has been lights out through the middle for the Stars, tallying 105 kills and a team-leading and conference-leading 57.0 blocks.
-Sophomore Landon Kassulke is the leading playmaker for Dominican, notching 432 assists for 9.82 assists per set, which ranks as the 2nd most in the NACC.
-Senior Michael Greco is 5th on Dominican in kills with 43 and 3rd in total blocks with 22.0.
-Junior Grant Henderson has held down the backrow for DU, totaling a team-high 98 digs.
 
Familiar Faces:
-Junior Ty Geschke returns from a strong Sophomore season. Geschke led the Stars in kills (275) and kills per set (3.62), was second in aces (56), and was third in blocks (38.0).
-Graduate Student Casey Goss will assume his place as the starting opposite hitter for DU, following up a Senior season that included 165 kills, 47 aces, and 22 blocks.
-Sophomore Kendall Esparza is back to don the Navy and Gold and looks to build upon a Freshman season of 82 kills, 23 aces, 45 digs, and 9 starts.
-Senior Michael Greco, Junior Thomas Hirsch, and Freshman Landon Diaz look to solidify the middle blocking position for Dominican. Hirsch led all middle blockers with 96 kills, while Greco led the 2025 squad in blocks with 44.0.
-Senior Tyler Vrska and Junior Grant Henderson return as the DS duo for the Stars. Henderson led DU with 126 digs last season, while Vrska finished fourth with 112.
 
Scouting Report:
-MSOE is 805 (1-0 NACC) to start the 2026 season.
-The Raiders most recently traveled to Edgewood and took down the Eagles in four sets on Saturday.
-MSOE hits at a .262 clip, averaging 12.8 kills per set, 12.1 assists per set, and 10.6 digs per set.
