Schaumburg, Ill.—The Dominican University Baseball team was back in action Monday night for a non-conference game against the Vikings of North Park.

Dominican: 6

How it Happened:
-North Park set the tone early by scoring 7 runs on 3 hits and took advantage of 1 Dominican error.
-DU was able to get a run back in the bottom of the first inning with Senior Nicolas Krecu hitting an RBI double to left field, scoring Freshman
Austin Long.
-Both teams were held scoreless in the second inning, with the Stars going in order.
-NPU was able to get back on the scoresheet, scoring 2 runs on 3 hits in the third inning.
-Dominican was able to respond in the bottom of the third inning by scoring three runs on two hits. The first came off the bat of Senior
Matthew Earley who reached on an error. Senior
Zach Helein came around to score on the ball Earley hit. Sophomore
Marco Stawski followed it up with a double down the right field line that scored Earley and Long.
-The score remained 9-4 in favor of the Vikings until the top of the 6th, when North Park added a run on a hit.
-NPU followed it up with another run on two hits in the top of the 7
th inning.
-North Park kept their foot on the gas in the ninth inning, scoring 9 runs on 5 hits while being able to take advantage of 2 DU errors, making the score 20-4.
-In the bottom of the 9th, the Stars were able to get two runs, the first with Freshman
Brady Burns drawing a bases-loaded walk that scored Freshman
Nick Lopez. The second run was Sophomore
Horacio Baltazar scoring on a wild pitch.

Zach Helein was 2-4 with a run scored.

Austin Long was 1-3 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored.

What's Next:
Dominican University Baseball moves to 6-8 (0-2 NACC) on the season. The Stars will continue at Wintrust Field for a NACC game against Division Street rival Concordia Chicago on Wednesday afternoon. The first pitch is set for 1p.m. in game one of the doubleheader.
