Box Score 2 After cruising through the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) on day one of the IIAC/NACC Challenge, the Dominican University women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to the top two teams in the IIAC, falling to the Wartburg Knights in the morning match, 3-0, before dropping a tight 3-2 match to the Coe College Kohawks in the afternoon.
The Stars couldn't shake off the morning rust, managing just a .066 hitting percentage in the three-set (25-15, 25-19, 25-21) loss to the Knights. Only five players managed kills in the Stars' usually well-balanced offense, paced by senior
Claire Dezelski's (Northville, Mich.) nine kills on 32 total swings.
Despite 70 digs for the Stars and nine total blocks, the Knights posted a .212 hitting percentage led by Bailey Wilson's ten kills.
In the afternoon match, Dominican took the first two sets from the Kohawks 25-17 and 25-13 before coming up short in the quest of the three-set sweep, falling 28-26. After the Kohawks took a 25-18 set-four victory to even up the match, Coe closed out the comeback by a score of 15-12 in the fifth set.

Caitlen Foote (Dexter, Mich.) paced the Stars' offense with 23 and 15 kills respectively.
The Stars stand at 13-8 on the season after going an even 2-2 at the IIAC/NACC Challenge this weekend. Dominican will return to Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action next weekend, traveling to Wisconsin to take on the Marian University Sabres on Friday night and the Edgewood College Eagles on Saturday afternoon.
