Why did you choose to attend Dominican University?
Originally I did not have Dominican on my radar for colleges. I was going to just attend a school for academics and was not going to pursue collegiate athletics. However, in high school I went on a college visit to Dominican and became slightly intrigued so I decided to apply. Once I was accepted I contacted the coaching staff to see if it was a possibility to earn a roster spot. The coaching staff came to watch me play and then decided to recruit me. Once this happened I knew I was set on this school because it allowed me to continue my greatest passion at the next level. It also had an nationally recognized business program. Both the academic strength and the excellent soccer program drew me to Dominican University.

What was your most memorable moment/experience in the Dominican soccer program?
My most memorable soccer moment was when I scored the game winning goal in OT against Aurora in the conference semifinals my junior year. This was the most important goal I ever scored in my soccer career and it boosted us into the conference finals and allowed us to make it the second round of the NCAA tournament. I will never forget the celebration that I had with my teammates and fans. It was an incredible moment to be able to shush the opposing crowd with Corbin [Voyles] and celebrate with everyone!

How has the Dominican soccer program helped prepare you for life after college?
The Dominican soccer program has given me a lot of tools to prepare me for life after college. It has taught me the importance of dedication, preparation, responsibility and hard work. The Dominican soccer program has taught me how to communicate effectively and take accountability for my actions. It has taught me how to self assess and understand what areas I need to improve to better myself. Finally, the Dominican soccer program has taught me how to handle pressure and high expectations and be able to adapt to new situations that may be uncomfortable for me.

What advice would you give to future Dominican Star soccer student-athletes?
The advice I would give to future Dominican soccer student-athletes is to fully buy in to the program. Don't be hesitant to buy in to the philosophy and beliefs of the team and to immerse yourself in to the team atmosphere. Take advantage of the brotherhood you make with your teammates. Also, don't fall behind on working out and improving on the ball. I put myself at a disadvantage by not consistently working to improve myself and had to work even harder once the season came around. Finally, cherish every moment you have on and off the field with your teammates. The four years go by incredibly fast and before you know it, it's over and you're wondering where the time went. Work hard and push yourselves to improve every day, but don't forget to stop every once in a while and appreciate the gifts this program gives you.
