After ending the 3-match losing skid, DU hosted Lakeland University in the second game of the doubleheader at West Campus Field. Dominican won 2-1 in this thriller. Junior Nicholas Porada got the first goal of the match in the 19th minute of the match, which was assisted by Sophomore Jonathan Almaguer and Junior Ciaran Geaghty. In the second half the score was tied at 1, when Porada showed up again with the game winner for the Stars in the 60th minute. Junior Tristen Banquil and Freshman Vinni DaSilva both recorded the assists. DUMSOC is in their final stretch of the season with three games left, and two this upcoming week. The first will wrap up a three-game homestand against Benedictine University with a kick-off at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22nd. The Stars will then travel to Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday afternoon, October 25th; this will be their final road game of the season. The DUMSOC team is currently in the 6th spot in the NACC and only one point behind the 5th spot in the standings. The Benedictine Eagles are 7th in the conference, and the Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors are tied for 8th.

Women's Soccer played two matches this past week after their 6-game win streak was snapped; they were looking to start a new streak. In the first game, though, they ran into a freight train in Illinois Tech, who is receiving votes in the top 25 of the national rankings. The Stars fell 5-1 at Illinois Tech. Senior Mia Dosen scored the only goal from the penalty spot. The Stars then returned to West Campus Field for their final home game of the season, where they celebrated 9 seniors on the squad. On senior day, DUWSOC won 3-1 and put up 54 total shots in the match. The most since 10/20/2021, when they had 55 shots. Sophomore Tia Garr collected her first two goals of the season in this one. The first was in the 12th minute, which started the match on the right foot. The second one for Garr was in the 66th minute; that was an insurance goal for DU. Senior Kamryn Klinger buried her third goal of the year, which resulted in the game winner in the 50th minute of the match that was scored off a corner that Senior Mia Taullahu assisted on. DUWSOC has two games this upcoming week and three games left in the regular season. All three games are on the road, and this week the Stars will travel to Benedictine University on October 22nd for a 7:00 p.m. kick-off. On Saturday, October 25th, the Stars will travel to Wisconsin Lutheran for a 1:00 p.m. kick-off against the Warriors. DUWSOC is currently tied for the 4th spot in the NACC.
