River Forest, Ill. – Graduate Student Melissa Gomez of Dominican University Women's Basketball was named to the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) All-Conference Honorable Mentions for the 2024-25 season.
 
Gomez started all 25 games for DU this season, and led the Stars in points (268, 10.7 Pts/G), field goals (101), free throws (62 FTM), and rebounds (117). Gomez posted season highs of 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 steals in Dominican's win over Blackburn College on 12/17/2024. The Des Plaines, Illinois native scored 15+ points in seven of DU's games during the 24-25 campaign.

Head Coach Tethnie Carrillo commented on Gomez's passion for the game, stating "Mel always gave maximum effort at every practice and every game. She could always be found in the gym putting up extra shots! Mel's work ethic set the standard for our young team, and she led by example. Extremely happy to see Mel honored for all the hard work and extra time she put into her game!".
