Janison, Supple Garner All-NACC Honors

The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) released the league's 2017 baseball all-conference teams on Thursday morning, naming Dominican University's Daniel Supple and Colin Janison to the All-NACC First Team.

Supple, a senior right-hander, posted a 7-1 record in 12 appearances, including seven starts, setting the Dominican University baseball single-season record for wins along the way.  The California native tossed a pair of complete games and posted a team-best 2.97 earned run average.  In NACC play, Supple went a perfect 5-0 picking up wins over Wisconsin Lutheran, Rockford, Benedictine, MSOE and Marian while taking a no-decision in a seven-inning outing against Aurora.

Janison, a junior, was named to the all-conference team as an outfielder while logging time throughout the season at shortstop, pitcher and left field.  The Las Vegas native batted a team-leading .360 on the season, cranking out 59 hits, fourth most in the conference, including a team-best 17 doubles.  Janison accounted for 58 runs, driving in 24 runs while scoring 34 runs, and logged nine stolen bases while being caught just once.

On the mound, Janison posted a 3-5 mark in nine starts, posting a 5.05 earned run average.  The right-hander collected 53 strikeouts while issuing just 16 walks.

Joining Janison and Supple in the postseason accolades was a pair of Dominican rookies, Frankie Sessa and Mike Buckley, named to the 2017 NACC All-Freshman Team.  Sessa batted .340 on the season, logging 55 hits in 162 at-bats, including five doubles and one triple.  The 6'0 Sessa drove in a team-best 36 runs, ranking sixth in the NACC.  Buckley appeared in 34 games for his freshman season, batting .289 with 35 hits, including 11 doubles and one home run, in 121 at-bats.  Buckley drove in 23 runs on the year.

The Stars begin play in the 2017 NACC Baseball Tournament on Thursday, taking on the fourth-seeded Benedictine University Eagles at 1:00 p.m. at Kapco Park in Mequon, Wisconsin.  The winner will meet the top-seeded Concordia University Chicago Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening.
