Women’s Basketball Dominant In Win Over MSOE

The Dominican University women’s basketball team opened the game on a 14-2 run and never looked back, leading by as many as 44 points along the way, in an 84-53 win over the MSOE Raiders in Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) action in Milwaukee, Wis., on Tuesday night.
Junior Becky Christofferson (Summit, S.D.) paced the Stars with 18 points in 23 minutes of work. Christofferson connected on four of her eight attempts from behind the three-point stripe as the Stars went 15-for-27 from three as a team.
Katie Budz (Orland Park, Ill.), Kayla Blom (Circle Pines, Minn.) and Ashley Oliver (Bolingbrook, Ill.) rounded out four players in double-figures scoring for the Stars, scoring 14, 11 and 10 points respectively. Budz and Blom nailed three three’s apiece while Oliver was a perfect 2-for-2 from long range.
The win improves the Stars to 14-4 on the season and 9-2 in the NAC, opening a two-game lead over the Benedictine University Eagles. On Saturday the Stars will host the Edgewood College Eagles. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in the Igini Sports Forum.
