Box Score Ten different players scored, with four reaching double-figures, as the Dominican University women’s basketball team rolled over the Rockford College Regents 83-46 on Tuesday evening to pick up the team’s third-straight victory. Dominican led from start to finish, taking advantage of 28 Rockford turnovers that led to 35 points.
The Stars shot 46 percent from the field in the first half, including going 6-for-11 from three-point range, to build a 43-20 lead at the break and never looked back.
Sarah Budz (Orland Park, Ill.) and
Laura Knieps (Tinley Park, Ill.) shared team-high honors for the Stars with 16 points apiece while
Kayla Blom (Circle Pines, Minn.) and
Ashley Oliver (Bolingbrook, Ill.) chipped in 14 and 12 respectively.
The win improves the Stars to 5-3 on the season and 3-1 in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) while the loss drops the Regents to 3-4 overall and 2-2 in the conference. Dominican returns to the court on Saturday, traveling to Watertown, Wis., to take on the Maranatha Baptist Bible College Crusaders. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
