Box Score The Dominican University women's basketball team had four reach double-figures scoring but fell to the Marian University Sabres 78-63 on Saturday afternoon in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) opener for both teams.
Alyssa Hernandez (Bartlett, Ill.) and
Kaylee Paciora (Scottsdale, Ariz.) scored 14 points apiece to pace the Stars in the losing effort while
Katie Budz (Orland Park, Ill.) notched her first double-double of the season with ten points, all in the second half, and ten assists.
The Sabres managed to shoot over 47-percent from the field, 28-for-59, led by Dani Huray and Sarah Olewinski who each shot 6-for-8 from the field for 19 points for Olewinski and 15 points for Huray. Olewinski was 4-for-5 from three-point distance while Sarah Albert scored a game-high 21 points on 18 shots.
The loss drops Dominican to 0-5 to start the season. The Stars return to River Forest to take on the Rockford University Regents. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the Igini Sports Forum.
