The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) announced the league's Student-Athlete of the Week for women's basketball on Tuesday evening, handing the honor to Dominican University's Timiya Ray for games ending on Sunday, January 14.
 
During the week, Ray helped the Stars to back-to-back wins over Edgewood College on the road and the MSOE Raiders in the Igini Sports Forum to extend Dominican's winning streak to three games.  In the win at Edgewood, Ray posted her fifth double-double of the season, pouring in a game-high 25 points and grabbing 12 rebounds while shooting 11-for-19 from the field.  Ray then followed that up with 16 points and eight boards in a 65-45 win over the MSOE Raiders as the Stars climbed back above .500.  For the week, Ray posted seven blocks, two steals and three assists without turning the ball over in more than 76 minutes of floor time.
 
Ray and the Stars return to action on Saturday, traveling down Division Street to Concordia University Chicago for a matchup against the Cougars.  Tipoff in the River Forest Rivalry Series is slated for 4:15 p.m.
