River Forest, Ill. The Dominican University women’s basketball team will host the #1 team in the NACC Saturday afternoon.

The Stars have never beat the Green Knights since St. Norbert joined the NACC in the 2021-2022 season. 

-This is the first and only matchup of the 2024-2025 season. 

DU in Review:

-The 2024-25 season is Head Coach Tethnie Carrillo's first with Dominican. 

-DU holds a 1-8 record in conference, with their win coming against Alverno on Saturday, January 11th by a final of 74-53. 

-The Stars hold a record of 2-7 inside the Igini Sports Forum. 

-DU looks to get their first conference win on their home court this season.


-Dominican's five wins on the season is already the most since 2021-22, when they had six.

Last Time Out:

-The Stars lost on Wednesday to the Cougars of Concordia Chicago to the score of 57-54. 

- Freshman Chenoa Moss has kept rolling for the Stars scoring 9 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. 

- Junior Kamila Gajkowska shot the ball well for the DU in the game scoring 9 points on 3-6 shooting. 

-Freshman Danielle Washington was near a double-double for Dominican with 8 points and 8 rebounds. Washington shot 2-5 from the three-point line. 

-Sophomore Aya Deiri led the team in minutes and scored 7 points. 

Star Gazing:


-The Stars offense has been led by Graduate Student Melissa Gomez. Gomez averages 10.3 points per game on the season and has been in double figures in 9 of the last 12 games.    

- Sophomore Lia Saunders has been all over the court for the Stars consistently this season. Saunders has recorded a stat in points, rebounds, and assists in every single game this season aside from two where she did not pick up an assist or score a point. Saunders leads the team with 42 assists on the year. 

-Freshman Danielle Washington is a player to always look out for if she catches fire from downtown. Washington is shooting 28.4% from behind the arc but has multiple games where she has knocked down 5 threes. Washington leads the team with 18 made threes. 

-Junior Kamila Gajkowska has the second most rebounds on the team with 70 total rebounds and averages 3.9 boards per game. Gajkowska leads the team with 8 blocks on the season.
 

Scouting Report:


-St. Norbert is 14-3 overall and 9-0 in the conference.   

-The Green Knights are 6-1 on the road.

-St. Norbert is scoring 66.2 points per game and allowing 55.2 points per game to their opponents. 

-The Green Knights enter Saturday’s game on a 7 game win streak. .

-St. Norbert’s last loss was on January 1st @ Ripon College to the score of 60-46.
