Hesslau’s career 84.1 free throw percentage ranks second in program history while his 1,655 points in 86 career games (three seasons) ranks fourth on the program’s all-time scoring list.
His 47-point performance in an overtime game at Trinity Christian in November of 1981 is the program’s all-time single-game scoring mark. In that game, Hesslau played the entire 45 minutes, going 19-for-38 from the field and 9-for-10 from the free throw line.
